What is now happening, reminds me a lot about what happened few years ago when Microsoft announced their plans for Xbox. Everyone was laughing at it and yelling "Its doomed, its going to fail", especially Nintendo fanboys did that a lot. Well, right now Xbox is beating Nintendo in US and EU markets.
Dear Ewan,

This alpha version of Vexed for Nokia 7650 uses OPL (??), C++ or J2ME ???
From another OPL programmer,

Ehrm, in theory, if I had signed an NDA re OPL Development I wouldn't be able to answer that question.
Things are progessing on various Hobby Developer issues, please just hold on, it's gonna be worth any wait. We're nearly there...
This is defintely going to be the first on my to-buy list.
Looks awesome, cool features, the MMC thing does not bother me.
Only thing that makes me think is the CPU,same as the one on the 7650? Is it powerfull enough for games as Tomb Reider?
Some of those who has tried it said that the gameplay was smooth and with great 3d graphics and textures,i just hope that is true.
nice but....
i'll go with

i trust the big N 8)
I dont trust anybody, but i dont think that Nintendo will offer good PDA features.
Would it be Symbian?
GamesAxis have produces a good detailed repot on the N-Gage launch event. It also has a lot of pictures of the N-gage in use.
Thanks langdona, that was a great read. Here's an another preview, from IGN.

I've read couple of reviews but they all state different things.
Some said that gameplay sucks, slow framerates, very simple 3D graphics and some say completely the opposite.
Who do we trust? 😃

Well the device is not out until Q4 (at the earliest) so the final design could change a bit. At this stage I don't think anyone can pass a real judgement as to wheather its good or bad. The best you can do is say is it a good concept or not. I like the look of it but it will never be the device for me as I'm not a great games player. If its an open platform i.e. other manufacturers can produce other devices that can play N-Gage (As opposed to downlaoded) games then I think it could be a big hit. However I'm not sure how they could make it closed. If the P800 is successsful then I'm sure the games companies would wan't to provide their software for that platform as well. Damn I'm speculating again 😉
