I have been using Gps since i bought the phone for about 6 months ago, but last week it just stopped working.
I tried to enable/disable it in settings, but no diff.
I can leave it on for hours, in diff spots, and it never goes above 1 marking.
On Garmin, i see the first marking that is red, and on Nokia maps the first marking just blinks.
Everything worked fine before, it started with nokia maps showing me the wrong position, and later it just stopped getting Gps signal at all.
I just had the phone at nokia for 1.5 months for service, they exchanged something that ruined the battery time, but the Gps has worked since the service. They also upgraded firmware.
Firmware 15.0.015 on a N95 8GB. 3 (sweden) Branded phone.
I really dont want to send it to nokia for more months.. Any clues?
I had the same trouble with my n95-1,all i did was reflash the firmware and it started working again, don't make a backup and put it back on your phone,i did that and the gps stopped working again,so some setting is messing gps up,,copy photos, music and such from you phone to your comp, but just don't do a system backup with pc suite and it should work fingers crossed.
I agree with marantz69. It's probably the Settings feature in your Restore on the upgraded firmware that's causing the problem.
You may find that you don't even have to do a reinstall just type *#7370# from the main screen and that will return it to it's vanilla, factory, state.
The factory reset worked like a charm, thanks!
Or, it worked for a few hours, updated nokia maps to 2.0, had gps working on my way to work, but now its bugged again..
Going to try to reinstall firmware anyway.
I had exactly the same problem over the weekend.
I went to un-install Nokia Maps, it said remove failed and then the next time I tried Google Maps or Nokia Maps it worked again!
Bizarre.
