O2 and blocking new software

After writing a letter of complaint to O2 about them blocking upgrades they phoned me. they deny blocking upgrades and will not do anything until they get a statement in writing, from Nokia, telling them that O2 is causing the blocking. The person I spoke to actually claimed he had spoken to Nokia before he phoned me.
He was unable to answer a straight question merely repeating the statement that O2 do not block upgrades. As far as O2 are concerned 7.23 (or whatever it was) is the firmware for the phone. Would be interested if anyone has bought an E90 from O2 recently and what firmware is on it and what model number.

If your phone is out of guarantee you could try changing the Product Code using NSS. This would sort it out once and for all 😊 If it's not, it will invalidate the guarantee (if they spot it).

I would always suggest buying Symbian handsets unlocked from new, then you don't get these problems. The operators of the Networks really do cause us some problems! But then this could be the only way in for folk who can't afford the outlay.

BTW - 7.24 is yonks old! Sorry.
