Nokia finally replaced my 7650 - but I want my old data — Nokia 7650

I have had a look through ... and dont see anything related to this issue.

After about 3 months of screwing around they finally replaced the device (I had major problems with crashing OS and phone features intermitently)

Anyway, I want to get my old backup back onto my new phone - Why, because it has some secure PIN numbers set up in my Handy Safe data.

But when I went to connect it up, the machine thinks it is a new device, set's up a new share and now I cannot see my old 7650 data (even on the desktop). Anyone have any ideas

And Yes, I know I have different IMEI numbers.

I *think* in the Backup/Restore options yu can point top a backup directory of a previous machine and put that data on your new phone. Certainly when I replaced my phone I don;t remember having any difficulties with the above procedure.

Or make a backup of the new device.
Copy the old files (Handy Safe files that is) to the new backup folder.
Restore

This worked for me to. You can clone a phone by copying the contents of one phones backup folder into another backup folder. Restoring will clone the data onto the second device, the only difference will be the IMEI!!!
