Symbian OS 7/8 for N72

Hi All,

I would like to install some softwares my old phone#6600 but thease softwares will work on symbian OS 7 or 8. So I went and purcahed a brand new N72 one week back. when i checked the OS on the N72 by pressing *#0000# it showing v 5.0741.4.0.1, date: 8-10-07, RM 180.

When i saw on the net for N72 Symbian OS it shown as 8.1. I badly need the symbian OS 7 or 8. Could you please suggest how I can go and where I can find this latest symbian OS 7/8

Newer Symbian or S60 versions for the old 6600 are not available.

It was created based on Symbian 7.0s and S60 2.0 (S60 2nd Edition, original version, no "feature packs"😉, and there is no way to upgrade it to anything newer.

If you want to run applications that require newer versions of Symbian/S60, I'm afraid you need to get a newer device.
