Another vote of confidence in the ageing N93

Despite being sold off by Nokia at clearance prices, I thought you'd be interested in this detailed and very positive review of the Nokia N93. And, with N-Gage compatibility surely just around the corner, I can't help but feel that Nokia are going to send a little update love in the N93's direction soon...

Read on in the full article.

I believed that Nokia will give an update to N93 as there came a row of many updates to older devices. But giving away at discount prices seems Nokia is not going to inject life to N93 again. But there's a possibility that they'll release a different N93 version whatever the earlier reports might have told. However, it will always be a device to remember. Which was remarkable in many unique aspects of its own.

I think what's frustrating is how close the N93 is to being a really good gaming phone.

I have had an N-Gage, QD, N81 and N93, and IMHO the N93 is the best for games overall.

All it needs is the actual N-Gage application, which Nokia did say they would provide... eventually.

..... a fanboy is going to write a review of such aged hardware. The verdict was never in doubt

I got a N95 8Gb a week ago, to replace my N93 (which is now in my phone museum). What won me over was the bigger screen and the more light-sensitive camera. I can make pictures in conditions with much dimmer light now. I also like the increase in RAM and the SP1.

But i really miss the N93's form-factor. Also, the N95 is crap for gaming, while the N93 was really great. I actually spend several hours re-playing Doom hehe. Also, the movies made with the N93 seem slightly better. Because of the stereo sound, and on the N95 it almost seems as if some stablisation-software is running, but not quite perfectly, even if stabalisation is off. And, of course, the buttons on the N95 are terribly small =/

Did you actually read the review, or did you just read the headline?

That's exactly what the review says, that there's no direct replacement for the N93 in either film making or gaming. All subsequent phones are inferior in these respects, though of course they're better than the N93 in other ways.
