program to change settings

is there an application that can change the phone settings whenever the battery is low?
Example: the phone battery is low and im on the road. Now i have to manually go to the (very slow) settings application, change backlight to the lowest level, switch to gsm only mode, switch off active standby, and maybe also switch off bluetooth. If I change these settings manually it not only takes a lot of time but also consumes battery power which I'm in need of at that moment
It would be great to have a program that does automatically what I would have to do manually.
If there is no such program it MUST be written or included in the firmware as this would be ESSENTIAL especially for the weak battery of the n95

Have you ever thought of charging the battery whilst you are on the road, a car charger cable only costs around a fiver, got to be easier than faffing around changing all the settings.

Thats not my point, generally there should be an option to enable a real energy saving mode. I didn't mean sitting in a car!
Besides, I do have a car charger cable out of the box...
