SMS Application Error?

Hi All

In messaging, when I click to 'Write short message' my Communicator (with 4.13 software) replies with Note - not found.

It's kinda like an application is missing.

Any Ideas?

Umm... I had the same problem once and I've fixed it with a full restore...
If you don't have a full backup of your 9210 I don't know... maybe you are in trouble... User posted image

Try and view the settings for SMS, Shift+Ctrl+T when in messaging. It will probably sort it out.

I have the same problem.
Hear this The guys of Nokia Service Point formated all my device,and reinstalled the 4.13, but the problem goes on...And they don�t know why...

Coolmatter Saddly, the only backup I have (since all the applications changed with the 4.13 firmware) is one I did when I first got the 9210 back from Communicaid. User posted image

I had the same prob see thread

clean install dated 28 02 2002

the only solution I found was to take back to nok sav and upgrade to 4.13

I jusqt got the nok back and am trying to anylise to find out which files have the sms and fax config in them

It would appear from a quick glance that they are in the Z drive

if you have 4.13 I can send you the backup I did to mem card in the sav centre
so it should be clean its in french but if you reinstall this back up and then reinstall ontop the english all data files for both mem and comunicator that should work (it worked the other way round for my 9110 a couple of years ago from english to french)

think about it see what other fourum members think and let me know

I think its time for a third party to write a backup / restore prog for the 9210 that works 100 per cent

just load sms.sis or the All_memory_data.sis , this worked for me, just download the latest ver from the nokia forum site & after loading it ,restart the phone 7 it should work.

Where in the world have you found the sms.sis gauravonline?!?
When I had the same problem... (Not found for sms) I went to a Nokia Support Center and they reinstalled the 4.13 and when I got home the first thing I did was to take a full backup!
So... Anonymous if you want I can send you my clean backup to test it and see if it works... otherwise you SHOULD go to Nokia...

OK...

I've finally got it going. This is how...

Remove Battery (to close everything).
Connect to PC.
Copy key .sis files to D.
Run PC communicator App (the one it installs as an Icon on the desktop - not PC Suite - and format C (could not get CTL+Shift+F to work).
Re-install PCmail_V413.sis and fax_V413.sis first (for some reason not in all_Nokia_9210_data_V413.sis).
install all_Nokia_9210_data_V413.sys to D
install allmemcard.sis to D
Voila - all working again. User posted image

Obviously formating C cleared of some 3.62 remnants.
