I want to get a browser for a 7650 that can access my TiVo, which is being proxy forwarded through Apache using Basic Athentication to make a resonable effort to stop unwanted types buggering up my TV schedule.
However, the only 7650 browser I can find is Doris - and this doesn't seem to support Basic Athentication - it just goes straight to the 401 Authorization Required error.
Is there something I can change in Doris to get this to work, or is there another browser out there I can look at?
Cheers
Russell
Im looking for something similar myself, however in my case its to connect to my companys CCTV servers. As yet Ive had no luck from the browser end (including talking to Doris).
Ive started working on the problem from the other end for the time being, The people that produce the CCTV servers are working on a plain text authentication system that will browsers will "see" as HTML.

Attached are pics of a robbery as shown on the 7650 (with the servers authentication off) 😞
I've emailed them myselves now to ask about future support for this. Surely they can add this to the next point release. I can't see any reason they wouldn't, HTTP basic authentication really would easy to do - just pop up a username / password dialog then resubmit the HTTP request with the username / password details...
I've just got a reply back from the the Doris people, and they say that HTTP basic authentication will be in the next release, but dosn't give any date for the next version.
