Ewan says Hi-n-Bye to a new accelerometer utility

Ah yes, the irresistable urge to make a play on words for a review of a utility with this sort of name. Quite appropriate really as, ultimately, Hi-n-Bye is more of a geek-toy/tech demonstrator. Still, within its niche, this accelerometer-driven telephony aid is immaculately programmed, a model app in many ways - and it's battery-sensitive too.

Opening the slide on my n95 answers a call. Little else is needed. It's cool, flashy and efficient ;^) Courtesy of the latest firmware.

Hi have an N82 & thought I would give this a go. It's just so cool & works perfectly on a cellular call but doesnt seem to support a SIP call but its cheap enough. Thanks Ewan, Steve & Raf for your wicked podcasts & info. I lean so much from you guys.

Pointless application for everyday use b/c it's way easier just using 1 finger/thumb and press a button than shaking phone or making pushing and pulling motion's.
Imagine in a super market or somwhere with lot of people ,they will think you are mental watching you do all these unordinary actions they'll have no idea what you are doing and think your stupid lol
Like you say it's good for display purposes but for everyday normal use it's just not practical
but many other motion sensor based apps are pointless too ,IMHO there is maybe 2 or 3 realy good ones and rest are boardering stupidity or pointless

Hey ccraig, I'm willing to bet that you've never used it, have you? I've had this app on my N95 for about a month and I love it. You don't have to shake your phone like a mad man. Just pick it up to ear to answer a call and turn it over to hang up. Believe it or not, it IS easier than pressing a button!

Shake and push is for extra stuff and you have an option to disable it if you want. I use all the options thought.

IMO this is the coolest app I have on my phone and that's saying something!

i have used it ,i've tested almost all of the motion sensor applications, most are pointless they are devs trying to solve problems what don't need solving.
Hi and bye is only intresting to people who like to show off and to young people who find pointless applications impressive.
To be truthful most motion sensor apps was always going to turn stupid once the good idea's like auto rotate and auto scrolling were used.
I do see the bennefits the sensor could bring to gaming though.

75% are stupid or pointless
25% are realy good and add something extra and cool to the device
but hi and Bye are among the 75%,
It's just my opinion thats all Unregistered user ,I'm sure there will be people that agree with both us.

How many people Have these kind of apps on phone and never use them after setting their prefference's and messing around with them after 1st couple of days ?
i can bet it's high percentage, b/c i only used to use rotateme out the several i had installed the others were quickly forgotten about after the show off period had gone.
