It's not N-Gage-compatible yet, but the Nokia N78 should become part of the platform at some point over the next few months. If you want to know more about it, head on over to our sister site All About Symbian for part one of an in-depth review of this new phone. We stress again, it's not N-Gage-compatible now, but should become compatible in the near future.

Read on in the full article.

This new phone runs a slightly newer version of the S60 platform called S60 3rd Edition FP2. It's the FP2 bit that makes it newer, as current N-Gage phones run S60 3rd Edition FP1.

There aren't a huge number of changes between versions, but there are one or two improvements here and there.

It may be that the delay in making it N-Gage compatible is due to FP2 requiring a new version of the N-Gage application.

i like the FP2 phones from what i've seen so far and will definatley get N96 if something else does'nt get anounced in the meantime and change my mind.
Nokia also have some hidden unanounced features on FP2's what have not been anounced yet from what i've read last week .
Guy's check out this site you can play a demo of N-gage Dirk Dagger embedded in it.
It's great but GFX are not that good so dont judge by grafix b/c phone version graphix is lot better.
I think you get to play all chapter one but not sure i did'nt get to end of demo, try it out here>http://www.kongregate.com/games/DirkDagger/dirk-dagger
It's a official promo demo from developers so dont ban me for posting links plz i just wanted to give ppl chance to try it

Hmm... interesting. I think I might do a news story about that! Thanks for letting us know.

It does look legitimate, I doubt any pirate would go to the trouble of converting just the first chapter to a flash game and then telling people to buy the full game on n-gage.com.

The graphics look okay for a phone adventure game. Don't forget, they're intended for screens much smaller than on a PC, and graphics always look better on a physically smaller screen.

Well, N-Gage is one of those features for a start! 😊

The N-Gage client apparently isn't ready for FP2 which is why it isn't included in the firmware, but when it's ready they will start bundling it with the FP2 phones straight out of the box.
