w960i as a router?

hi there, 1st post!

ive no idea if this is possible but id love it to be!!

I have a PS3, also have a PSP and as im sure some of you may know that the psp can connect to the PS3 using wifi over the internet. I also have a w960i and again im sure who all know this has 3g and wifi.

so..... what i really want to do is be able to connect the psp to the w960i (preferably wifi) then connect to the 3g mobile internet thingy, then down and to my PS3.

is this possible?

cheers

No offence, but you are one hell of a connectivity freak ! 😊😊

Coming to your original question ( assuming I understood your question correctly)

The only connectivity that W960i exposes itself is via Bluetooth pairing.
Your PSP device could connect via bluetooth and from then on when it is paired, w960 could act as a modem via GPRS/3G.
Or in other words: w960 device cannot act as a Wifi access point using its 3g capability to serve as a Wifi-router and as a 3g-bridge at the same time.

"one hell of a connectivity freak "

why yes i am!! Thanks for our reply btw

Ive had a really good dig about the net regarding this, and i think its possible to use the w960i as a router, but there is no software to do it yet. I found some tantilising threads on the SE developers site, and have found some software for the s60 version of symbian. Walkabout hotspot or something. they seem to be working on a uiq version but ive no idea when it will be available.

Its a real shame tho. I think my plans for technology are still a little bit ahead of the game!!

I very much doubt such 'routing capability' could be built into a handset like w960 by an add-on onto UIQ.
Thing that is of interest to you could only sit behind a 3G/GPRS packet switched- in my view.
This is one of very reason why 3G browsing is still so expensive l !
