Sorry if this has already been asked (before anyone says anything.... I used the search to no avail).
I just downloaded Maps v2.0 and it runs soooo much smoother than the last one, and it seems to lock on much faster than before (within a minute, rather than an hour!). Anyway I don't drive so was attracted by the walking navigation that's offered with Maps v2.0.
Has anyone tried it at all? Is it handy? For ~20/year it doesn't sound bad but wanted to make sure it was worth it first.
Cheers peeps 😊
Nope, but if you do try it I would be interested to hear what you think of it.
Sure I can let you know how I found it if I get it 😊
Hasn't anyone bought the "on foot" navigation at all?
So... no one on this board has bought the on-foot navigation for Maps 2 then? Not a soul?? I find that hard to believe.
I've used walk quite a lot in
a) London
b) Barcelona
Good experience both times. Basically it does route finding rather than navigation as such. It does keep pace with where you are, but you still need to look around (i.e. no voice). This works well and I've used to get myself to places without really knowing where they are.
When going up for meeting in London I tended to print out a Google Map from the nearest tube station to the place I wnated to go. I don't bother now - I do try and do a search to find the place I'm going while on the train or before driving (and save it as a bookmark) so its ready to go straight away.
Did 45 moniytes across London from London Bridge to Shaftesbury Avenue the other day without any problems.
That sounds good. I'm in a totally new place y'see so I don't know where anything is. Having this would be a handy feature. And for twenty quid for a year it's not a bad price.
I'll strongly consider it, thanks 😊
