Midnight Pool proves a wasted opportunity

If you've tried out the new Midnight Pool game on N-Gage, you may have spotted that, four hours after the game being released, I'd completed it and was sitting atop the N-Gage Arena rankings. Which really isn't a boast, since Midnight Pool is simply far too easy. I explain why, with copious screenshots and comments on interface (good) and performance (bad) in my in review of Midnight Pool over on All About N-Gage.

I'm not talking about this specific game but there is a LOT of difference between the n-gage and java versions of the same game. Play it yourself to find out, you would start hating java games too.

However, Midnight Pool, as the article suggests was another opportunity wasted by Gameloft. I'm still waiting for a stunner like Asphalt 2 for the old n-gage, its a shame that even Asphalt 3 couldn't match the graphics might of Asphalt 2.

Yep. Virtual Pool is the one. I hadn't realised it was so old!

Plays like a dream and perfect for commuting in that you can hit the hang up button as you jump off the tube and when you load it back up again, it's remembered exactly where you are in the game. Not many games you can do that in!

Easily the best game in terms of longevity I've played on my N95 - it won't be leaving my phone any time soon.

In terms of this game - a 90 second trial is almost encouraging the warez boyz. And so's the price: I accidentally clicked "Register" to find them wanting me to shell out 8 for the game! 8 for that! Hahaha. They should be so lucky.

On the technical front, the mechanics seem a bit generous in terms of pocketing balls. Either that or I'm better at pool than I thought!
