Guys and girls,
Looks like there is an issue with the latest T-mobile firmware in that it stops (or possibly blocks?) you from updating your software with a different product code.
I've just had my UK T-mobile N95 replaced and it had the old v.12 firmware on so updated it. I didn't change the product code and it got updated to some pretty nasty v.14 T-mobile bastardised firmware (I mean seriously molested with T-mobile shit everywhere:mad😊.
When I then used NSS to change the product code to EURO1, same as 101 times before, NSU found the v.21 firmware but got to the point where the phone restarts and shows the Nokia logo and then just restarts again and boots as normal. It doesn't brick the phone which I guess is good - but doesn't allow you to update the firmware either.
The v.14 firmware is horrific, plastered with horrible t-mobile stuff, startup screens, screensaver, web replaced with "web'n'walk", the worst ring and message tones ever. Aside from that the firmware is very unstable and my phone now reboots at least 3 times a day... Very much not happy with t-mobile right now...
A few users on n95users forum have reported this also. No known way around it yet - anyone got any ideas?
