Txting suddenly failing?

Yep, another problem (this one actually lead to me hard-resetting, flashing, and installing latest firmware in the first place haha). Im on o2, on a pay monthly, and this is the 2nd time this following problem has happened, the first being solved by them sending me a new sim card!

Basically, phone was 100% fine, texting away. Then suddenly, messages start failing when i try and send. go to my outbox, send...fail....send....fail. And on details it says 'memory full, try closing applications and try again', which is bullshit as its still doing it now AFTER a complete reset and firmware upgrade. not only this, i have 118mb free on internal memory, and messaging is the only process open at the time. I can still recieve incoming texts fine. Just suddenly, for no provoked reason at all, cannot send any out? wiped inbox, drafts, sent, outbox and reports (which dont work properly anyway for some reason), and still no help. Tried the obvious wiping and re-seating sim card, which looks in perfect condition anyway, no help

I was just wondering if other people have had similar problems? cant be arsed going through the o2 checklist theyll no-doubt ask me to do in their reply to the help email ive already sent them. Not sure if its a sim card problem with o2, or an n95 problem.

Cheers guys

hi - 02 do not support delivery reports for text messaging anymore but you can force a report by placing *0# before the body of the text message, so sending a message like '*0# Hi how are you?' will send a report back to you but the receiver will not see the *0#.

As for your other problem, I'm not sure why messaging is failing.

This might be a bit of a shot in the dark, but I experienced a similar problem, and it turned out that any phone numbers I had stored as international format (ie +44nnnnnnnn) had lost the leading "+". This was causing texts and calls to fail. I never did trace the problem, though I suspect a synching issue.

ok cheers for the responses guys. Didnt know o2 didnt support reports, thats a bit odd tbh, theyre pretty handy sometimes.

This error is happening on ALL stored number, not only +44 prefixed ones. thanks anyways

guess ill just have to wait for the new sim card...again
meh

When *exactly* did texts stop failing? My phone (a Nokia 6600) has also stopped sending texts, around 29th of June (a Sunday, give or take) and I happen to be on o2.

I rang their support, there appears to be nothing wrong with the phone settings and the response was basically, "it's so old, get a new one." Why would it suddenly fail to send texts for apparently no reason? The rest of the phone works perfectly fine.

It's a conspiracy!

mine was 2 nights ago m8, not that long ago. Although it does seem strange. IF its happened to you before, and mine twice now.. maybe o2 have rubbish sim cards or soemthing? IF you still have that problem, ask them to send you a new sim card. Do it online on their online form help, theyve been really good with me on there. Last time, a new sim card solved it to me. then they ask you to email back with the Sim No. thats on the back of the sim, so they can activate it. That way you keep your same number too.
