Maximum size of .SIS file?

there's no maximum size that i'm aware of.
It all depends on your phone free ram to install .sis (it should be > about 100kb+.sis file size+installed program size)
on 9210 Cosmic Fighter .sis is about 1mb and it installs into 1.1mb.. works perfectly fine.

You can also cut your program into few .sis files and install them one after another (like doom did it - look into sdk for more info) - advantage of this method is that you need less memory during installation process.

hope it helps

What phone are you using and what method did you use to transfer the sis file?

I know that there are problems on the 9210 to transfer large files via IR. 800k is about the limit. But this is not a limitation of the sis files, but of the way the IR app is written.

I've installed sis files over 1MB on the phone using the cable to transfer the sis file.

Sorry, forgot to mention the phone it is a Nokia 7650 😊

Mack:well, CF installs on 7650 without a problem as well.. I have got a bit smaller version there, without music, takes about 820kb before and 920kb after installation. It was working fine with music too... you're simply probably going out of memory during installation process.

To install 1mb file that unpacks into 1.5mb you will need around 2.6mb of memory.. possibly more... that's v.hard to get because 7650 has got about 3mb free mem when you delete everything😊
