A couple of sync questions - odd observations

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has also noticed the following.

1. When synchronsing Calendar entries from PC to Phone, if calendar is open on the phone the appointment doesn't transfer (although the log says it does)

2. When synchronising a contract from the PC to phone, only one email address will sync.

In both cases, it works fine in the other direction.

Thanks 😊

Hi,

What software you are using for sync? which version?
What is your phone model N95/N95 8 GB?
What is PC Operating systerm details, OS, 32/64 bit, Service pack 1/2/3 ?
What is the connection type IR/BT/USB?
What is sync settings on phone/Pc ? 😡

Hi,

It's a normal N95, with Nokia Suite 6.84.10.3.
The PC is running on XP (I guess professional as I am at work) - don't think it's got service pack 3.
It's connected via a USB cable.
I've set it to synchronise every 15 mins with the PC being dominant if something is changed in both places.

When I create a brand new contact with 2 email address on the PC it goes over to the phone ok, but if I then fiddle around and edit them, one dissapears from the phone on the next sync.

On existing contacts which have two emails on the PC, but only one on the phone, I can get it to work by creating a second email on the phone containing just a @. This then overwrites one of the addressed on the PC. I then re enter the missing address on the PC and it then transfers back to the phone an replaces the @, although is some cases it replaces the wrong address and removes the other one all together so the phone then only has 1 email field on the contact!

Very confusing! 😊

Hi Banzibarn,

You said you are using Nokia PC Suite 6.86.x version, apart from this you have two more PC Suites available now for NSeries handsets alone. But if still you want to stick with normal pc suite, you can upgrade to latest PC Suite 7.0.7.0...Remember the other two pc suites will not have SMS sending option and contacts editor...So if you want have a try you can... NOthing wrong in installing Nokia PC Suite as well as Nokia NSeries PC Suite/Nokia OVI PC Suite on the same PC 😊 😊 😊
