E71 and MOTO Z10 in PDA Essentials 77

I see PDA Essentials magazine has renamed itself as "PDA Esssentials, Smartphone & GPS"... Anyway, issue 77 of this UK-based newstand magazine, out today, has full reviews of the Nokia E71 and Motorola MOTO Z10, along with a multi-page feature on '10 things to do with GPS on your smartphone' and the inclusion of the Sony Ericsson W960 and the Nokia N82 in a 'budget' group test.

That effectively died when the editor took up a full time job in another sector. Steve Clack still runs the magazine in his spare time, but there doesn't seem much of that etc. Bit of a shame really.

I exchanged email with Steve Clack in October last year when I received my Issue 14 - and at that time he was saying
"The magazine doesn't ship on a particular cycle - we simply wait until we've got enough good content together to make the best magazine we possibly can."

I tried to encourage him and retained my subscription but I guess if there's not enough support to make it worthwhile or to make a living from it, one just has to move on. Ditto SL - shame.

Oh, there's always plenty of potential content. The problem is that putting together something like Palmtop magazine doesn't pay the bills very well, or at least it wasn't enough to keep a roof over SC's head. Hence it had be sidelined by a paying job. In my case, increased duties at AAS and starting up The Smartphones Show kept me busy and paid the bills.... 8-)

PDA Essentials keeps going because it rides on the back of an established publishing house's distribution and printing network....
