Is Samsung's new rumoured phone a N95 killer ?

i thought i read another article that said it wont have the xenon flash. either way, it looks impressive. it wont be an n95 killer because this phone will probably only be triband gsm or something stupid. that kills it for US peoples.

I'm really not sure what to go for as my next handset. The n96 seems to be particularly underwhelming compared to the n95 after they've had so much time to improve it. This sounds fairly interesting.

What is the compatibility like between s60 handsets of different manufacturers? It doesn't look like it has the active standby screen, for a start - does this mean that nothing that apps that use the active standby screen won't work?

Will other Nokia downloadable apps work?

Seeing that n-gage only works on a couple of Nokia devices (officially), I guess the odds are that it won't work on any other s60 devices!

it has a 1200mah battery so it shouldnt be bad and it puts the 950mah in the n95-1 and n96 to shame

i cant say for defo but its got the specs to say its gonna pack a punch , looking at it with an open mind it could be tempting for this instead of the n96

be intresting to get more specs on the camera , what sensor size etc etc , no point of having 8mp camera with rubbish lens/sensor ,

iam undecided on the duel led flash as well it would be intresting to see it in real life before commenting on it , id like to think it would work well for still pics as well as recording in the night

iam quite intrested in this device and to seee how well it does compared to the n96 ok it dosent have the tv tuner but you cant use that in alot of countrys anyways and id rather have a 8mp camera rather then dvb tv that we cant use int the uk 😊

any one know if it has a camera lens cover?? if it has i could like it even more then the n96 😊

what symbian does it run on ?? would software from the n95-1 work on it or is it the same as the n96

nice 1

from pics it looks like it has a camera lens cover too 😊 defo a good thing and one thing i think nokia have been messing up on latley , no camera lens cover on 8gb n95 and n96 , it just seems crzy to me to have a high end camera phone with no camera lens cover , itd just make me happy as a customer to have something protecting my camera

to be honest i dont really like samsung phones iam addicted to nokias 😊 but i gotta take me hat off to samsung this is direct competition to the n96 and iphone and even though iam a nokia lover i have to admit the specs are tempting id love to have a play with one to see what its like in the real world 😊

It's another question whether you really need VGA on a 2.6...2.8" screen. The Samsung Omnia is 3.2" WQVGA, and is sitll the most hyped device now that Windows Mobile people realize the HTC Diamond is pretty disappointing in some respects. VGA is just too much an overkill for a 2.8" screen.

Id be interested to know cost between QVGA and VGA. If there was a rough estimate of the difference of using VGA on a certain device, people might not be so keen for it.

Would you be happy with another 20 on top of your phone price? Or maybe 50?

?

Who on earth needs video at 120fps? Hollywood only uses 24 - 25 fps!

The 8MP camera sounds good but if the Xenon flash is missing it will suffer the usual terrible performance of most mobile phone cameras in all but ideal light conditions.

I think my Nokia N82 with 5MP + Xenon flash and DVD quality video is more than adequate, thank you.

hmm.. I am not sure about buying non-Nokia Symbian phones.. Some software specifically detects the type and denies phones not on the list..

Finest example is the Mail 4 Exchange
