Leaving Nokia phones and Symbian for Samsung

Yes you've heard it right, i've decided to quit beeing a nokia/symbian fan. Mainly because of the big dissapointment with n96, no major improvements, no qwerty, 950 mah battery and also boooooring and designless symbian interface.

I've currently got the n82, the phone is awsome when it comes to features, but it lacks design. On the other side i've always liked the iphone, touch screen and all that, really was tempted to buy the 3G version, then something brilliant happened, i saw the awaited Samsung i900 Omnia, witch i didn't even look at the specs or reviews because i thought something like "another crap samsung". Then i look into some specs and i see my 3g Iphone+Nokia N82 both in 1. I said to myself this is it 😊. Apart from the same features as a n95 or n82, it has bluetooth+edr, HSDPA at 7 mbit, Windows Mobile 6.1 instead of Symbian 9.1(witch i'm really anxious to try because it's my first windows mobile) and ofcourse touchscreen. Oh and like double battery life.

So i'm hoping next month when Samsung i900 Omnia will be released to puchase it.

The only - i give to the omnia is the absence of the 3.5 mm jack, but i used inbox headphones for the n82 too so it's no big deal. Also the thing that bothers me is that Samsung is Samsung, it isn't Nokia, i don't know how Samsung's support is, because Nokia is doing a great job with support, even giving firmware updates for 2-3-4 year-old phones, witch is awsome.

What is your opinion? I did a good choice? What do you samsung fan's say about their support? You like Omnia more than Nokia N96 or other dream phone?

Comment 😉

Thank you

I'm expecting my Samsung i8510 in the post in the next two to three days,
runs on Symbian so hopefully best of both worlds. I have had a number of Nokia but the N96 just didnt do it for me, must be getting to be a fussy old fart!!😊
