Losing texts & photo's

Hi Guys

I am new to here so hope it is ok me posting this here. I have searched the N82 forum for my problem but cannot see it.

My problem is that often when my phone is turned off for a long period of time (8 hours ish) and sometimes when it is switched off for a very short time it keeps losing all my Inbox messages and sent messages. It has also lost photo's. But only photo's that have just been taken.

I have the following software on my phone:

V20.0.062
28-02-08
RM-313

I swapped it to try my messages being saved to memory card and phone memory and to be honest I am now just confused.

This is the second N82 I have had, the first had a fault with the alarm and scratches on the LCD. So this is my 2nd N82!!!

I thought I solved the problem by downloading the new software as per above to my phone of which I did yesterday. But about an hour ago I was texting someone and we sent about 2 texts each way and then my phone went blank with just the wallpaper visible and then switched off and then switched back on to the normal screen with all my details and lost my messages. It then said I had a new message and when I clicked to view it, it deleted it before I saw who it was from and my phone went blank again.

Grrrr

So now I have kept the original memory card in it and backed up my phone and had a friend send me 3 texts and I then switched my phone off for 10 minutes and it kept the messages.

Sorry for the massive essay guys, I have tried to explain it as best as possible.

Is anyone able to advice? Or am I best just going back to the company and asking for a repair/replacement but state it has the new software on it?!?!?!

Many thanks in advance.

Lottie, I seriously think you need to take it back. Theres a clear fault with the phone somewhere.

Was there any difference in using the phone memory instead of the memory card? When you updated the phone software did you reinstate a backup?
