Can E90 support a 4GB CARD

Hi tropical,

it certainly does. I have used a SanDisk 8GB Micro SD for several weeks now and have no problems at all.

Cheers,
Chris

Officially, as was told to me by Nokia Customer Support, the latest E90 FW only supports 4GB cards. I use an Sandisk 8GB card with no problems, other than the fact that when I want to change an alarm sound/ringtone, I have to remove my card for the selection popup to work properly. I suspect it's because my phone has too many sound tracks, but Nokia claim that the problem may be caused by the card itself, due to the size exceeding the 4GB limit; I have my doubts, but obviously can't prove anything...

That's odd (lucky for you, I guess). It could be a question of how many audio tracks you have on your card, or it could be a problem with my specific card, but as it's a (genuine) Sandisk, I'd be surprised...

My card is a Sandisk as well... But I don't have that much audio tracks on it, so that could indeed be part of the cause...

Hello All,

first post is this 🙄

I have a sandisk 8gb hc card in mine with no problems at all

Cheers

Andy....

Thanks to all of you who responded to my post , i can confirm that 8GB works perfectly on E90 i got the scandisk TOO.Cheers

The new 16GB should work out of the box too, and the 32GB when it eventually arrives. I think I read somewhere that 32GB is the limit.

I have quite a good number of tracks on my sd (8gig sandisk) probly about 3 gigs worth of music and the only problem i have with popups is the eternity it takes to scroll down

Thanks to all on your support , i can confirm that 8gb SCANDISK works well on E90 nice to hear that 32GB Works fine too!😊

I have been using a 16GB card for a long time .
it works just fine. I don't know about the 32 GB but the 16GB works great

Thanks,
Bobby

I have a Sandisk (class 2) 16 Gb card. It went corrupted after a month or so. Sandisk replaced it under warranty (provided I sent back the old card, which costed about 75% of its price). The new one is class 2 as well. Many errors and crashes with it. So I downgraded to my previous 8 Gb class 4 card, which is just fine.

Never found a class 4 card above 8 Gb.

I have a Sandisk Class 4 16GB card, and it works fine; no obvious problems with speed and certainly no corruption issues. Are you sure they were the fault of the card rather than a problem with the phone...?

Yes I am sure. But please note that the defective card was class 2. I experienced serious stability problems with two different class 2 cards, one from Sandisk (16 Gb), one from Transcend (4 Gb), and no problem at all with two other cards, both class 4. My guess so far is that E90 requires a class 4+ card, probably for speed issues.

Unfortunately I did not find a retailer in Belgium selling class 4 cards above 8 Gb. When my current class 4 card (8 Gb) will be about to be full I will investigate again (or purchase online).
