Another week and another N-Gage best-sellers chart. Click on this news item's headline to see the complete official rundown.

Read on in the full article.

Brothers In Arms was released far too late to make it into the chart, but it will probably do rather well next week.

the good games and well known brand's are starting to swap places i see.
with the better games rising to the top.
I don't know how true the couple of articles are what i've read today but apparently Reset Gen will have a launch date on August 4th according to a couple of articles posted in a thread on N-gage forum.
August was the target for release back in April so it could be true
guess it'll be a wait and see if it happen's in 3 weeks

Still waiting for "One"....
i dont know why people buy Tetris (with my respect to them) but i can find free games better than Tetris in .sis and for free on www.clickgamers.com ...
i need more games like System Rush and Golf...better graphics and 3D.

I'm really happy Creatures Of The Deep is doing so well, it's been four months since its release on First Access and it's still amongst the best-selling titles. It really deserves these sales, the developers clearly put a lot of effort into the gameplay, graphics and long term depth.

It's also good to see that Sims 2 Pets dropped right out of the charts, because there wasn't really anything to do in it. They'd obviously spent all their time on the graphics engine and interface, but forgot to add any content.

From recent interviews, the actual game is finished, they're just working on the online stuff. Releasing a free multiplayer game which anyone can play on any website that embeds it may well generate more online traffic than N-Gage has ever had to cope with, so I'd imagine they'll be putting on some special measures to make sure they have enough capacity.

Indeed, in my review of Tetris for N-Gage I recommended to people they should get S-Tris 2 instead as it's free and has a better interface.

But this is one thing that's always been true of all gaming platforms: well-known brands tend to sell better, even if the actual game isn't that amazing. People know Tetris, even those who don't normally play games, so when they see a list of totally unfamiliar titles with one familiar one, they'll go for it.

This is probably going to get even more common once N-Gage is embedded in phones, because there will be even more casual gamers using the platform. I'd expect to see card games like the DChoc range doing well once that happens.

I agree with your views Tzer2. COTD deserves the sales it is getting. Last week when it was at no. 5, I thought a really good game would be knocked out of charts pretty soon, thanks to Java ports. Thankfully, it has bounced back. In fact, I find it to be the only game worth buying in this platform. Spectacular! And thank God that Sims 2 Pets got knocked out. People should try the demo and shouldn't buy that CRAP. Buying this sort of crap encourages publishers to release crappier titles. Same happened with Asphalt. Asphalt 3 got sold well, and Gameloft has released a crappier Asphalt 4.

Asphalt 3 is also one of the best-selling games on N-Gage at the moment, so I suspect we will be seeing Asphalt 4 on N-Gage too. I didn't think it was that bad, I actually liked it as a 10 euro game, but it isn't as original or deep as COTD.

COTD is so good that it could probably pass for a full price DS game, but of course it's a Nokia-published title so only N-Gage users will ever get to see it.

Nokia seems absolutely committed to another COTD, the producer is asking for suggestions to be used in the sequel on the official COTD Arena forum, which is good to hear. As long as they stick with Infinite Dreams for development, it should be a great game.

Actually, may be for a casual gamer, Asphalt 3 is a pretty decent game, but those who have played Asphalt 2 on N-Gage (first gen), it was a completely different experience (I know, it costs much less, but Gameloft could have given similar customisation of cars with same less content. What Asphalt 3 seems to be in comparison to the earlier version is, it is not a 'designed for a smartphone platform' title, it is just a souped up port of the Java title). On the other hand, the recently released Asphalt 4 HD (God knows why they are calling their latest S60v3 games as HD. They don't run on HD screens, just on QVGA ones.), is just Asphalt 3 will some changed tracks and cars and a multiplayer plugged into it. (Here comes the problem. We would hope that if Asphalt 3 has fared better, they will be extra cautious about Asphalt 4 and make it better. Gameloft seems to have faltered on that count. Multiplayer alone can't save a low-grade game.) Yeah, on the other hand, I'm willing to pay 30 euros for COTD, it provides me that much of fun. And great news! I also have seen in their forum that they are asking about locations WE would like to see in the game (great interactivity 😃). So, I hope COTD 2 is on roll. COTD is easily one of the best 3 VIDEO GAMES I have ever played. Brilliant!

I think Gameloft are the EA of the mobile world, with all the positive and negative things that that implies.

but Gameloft could have given similar customisation of cars

The garage in Asphalt 3 has a LOT of options to unlock, do they not count?

I didn't notice them making much difference when I played the game, but maybe I didn't use them correctly?

The upgrades in Asphalt 3 are less detailed and a lot easier to earn. And, you said it in your next comment, they don't make much difference (and are hence turned useless, beside Asphalt 2, where each upgrade counts). I am not worried at the games published by these big publishers not without a reason.
