As the title says, how long should Nokia continue to update the firmware of the N95?

Should it be till its replacement comes in (N96)? or should Nokia develop firmware until the phone hardware can't take it anymore?

In fact how long should Nokia update firmware for all there phones???

as long as s60 3 fp1 remains around there will be upgrades available for the most advanced hardware made for it.

However the N96 uses fp2 .. its hard to say how long before all Nokia's new devices will be using this release.

I'd say you'll be good for another 2 years minimum.

😊

And the N96 is not exactly a "replacement" for the N95 or N95 8GB. It is just a different/new model in addition to those.

So far, it is pretty much market demand and component availability that keeps a Nokia model on the market. Some are made for only a short period of time, and some models stay around for many years, even.
