One of the drawbacks of the Blackberry Message Viewer applet on the 9300 is that you cannot save an attachment and the viewer doesn't know how to handle many attachments despite them being common file types which are understood by the 9300's OS and other applications (JPG, GIF, etc).
Does anyone have the knowledge or wherewithall to figure out how to "enhance" the message viewer to add a function to at least save an attachment as a file so that it can be available to the File Manager?
Two possible paths...
1. Modify code in \Communicator\System\Apps\MsgBlackberryViewer to add the function.
2. Write a standalone application that can read the data in \Communicator\System\Mail\<etc> and parse out the attachment(s).
Any thoughts?
I thought I had found such software at pinstack.com but it turns out to be for native RIM devices.
