Copy and paste text block from E90 web Browser

Hello,

I can't find a copy and paste function in E90 browser. I know that it works in it with Word and SMS application, but not in web browser.

I'm wondering if it is possible to download some browser that supports selecting and copying of text block from web browser content (CTRL + C/V)?

Also, I need possibillity to have 2 web browsers windows open at the same time.

Can that be done with E90 somehow?

Regards.

Hi,

Unfortunatelly the S60 browser does not support copying text, only images.

And yes it supports multiple browser windows. I f you want to open a new browser window, you have to make a trick: press 1 to see your bookmarks, go to feeds, hopefully you have at least one feed. Select whatever feed you want and follow one link in the feed. This opens a separate browser window. Now if you press 1, you can browse any bookmark, or by press 9 you can browse any web address. Press 5 to switch between windows.

Cheers,

I understand, thank you for your clarification. I need that function because 90% of my time I'm just doing paste and copy.

Do you think that some future version will support that maybe on E90?

Regards.

Hi,

I don't think so. I've found an other free browser half year ago wicth supposed to support this, bot it didn't work with E90. Ther is also teashark, a java browser maybe it supports it.

This is the only thing I miss so much. On the s80 platform it was possible and very useful.

Cheers,

I found following information interesting, but I can't test it because I don't have E90 for the moment:

http://www.modaco.com/index.php?showtopic=266970&pid=886438&mode=threaded&start=

Then in teashark forum they told that 'the russian opera mini "mod" does that, also pocket IE!'

But I'm not sure where to find it.

Another post on S60 forum:

This works in many programs on Nokia S60 phones.

Press and hold the pencil key and select your text using the scroll key.
Left function key will change to 'Copy'. Press it to copy the selected text to clipboard.
You can paste the clipboard contents the same way:
press and hold the pencil key and press 'Paste'. Or, press pencil key once and select 'Paste'.

Can someone test this and get back with results? I will really appriciate that.

Regards.

The app you've suggested runs on Windows Mobile Os.

The method isn't working in the browser only with form fields.

Cheers,

Doh, so sad. Thank you for supporting me with this. I guess I will use some *indows based touch screen mobile for a while.

Maybe the future updates will bring this function to E90. In my opinion, it has one of the best keyboards that I have ever tried...

Thanks.

I am not sure if this will help you on your phone, but on my nokia e61i I amunable to copy and paste text in the web browser unless the text is in a text entry field or text area of a form. So I created a little website for myself, mobitol.com which allows me to enter a url and retrieve that website's text into a text box so I can copy and paste it. It also gets html source code and can open new windows- two features left out of the browser. It might work for other Nokia phones as well.
Hope it helps!
