Hi,
I'm thinking of buying a nokia e90 and even though I have unlocked phones before I'm a little worried that this one maybe harder than the ones I did a few years ago.
At the moment I have a nokia n95 which I have debranded and messed around with apps and stuff with no problem.
No here comes the silly question...........
If I was to debrand the phone and update the software would that not infact make the phone debranded?
This may sound silly but are you not in fact taking away all the network settings?
Thanks inadvance.
Rob
Unlocking e90
unbranding is different to unlocking. I believe thats a lower level lock than firmware. I debranded an N80 butit doesn't unlock it.
What I sis use was a iSmartSim from dealextreme.com, less than 2 and it just 'works'
As a matter of interest, o2 contract phones are unlocked to all networks, if you debrand it, then update, you have a fully unlocked and debranded phone with the latest software. There's not even any o2 branding on the case.

Thanks Clive for you are correct!!!!:icon14:
I got one from a friend who didnt want his 02 upgrade!
Debranded it and ran the NSU and now I have a E90 that is how I want it to be not a E90 how the networks want it.
Thanks again Clive
