ok so i did some searching on this forum but im still confuse. i downloaded divx player for mobiles version 0.90. then installed it on my fone. i transfered some of my vids i wanted 2 watch which was .avi. i played it but it has no sounds. only reason why i wanted 2 use divx player because it has good quality better than the nokia default player. so can anyone tell me wat im doing wrong? or perhaps a better alternative? thnx in advance

Use CorePlayer and make sure you also follow my articles - I've also compared the two apps in one of my past articles.

ive used both and core player is much better then divix player , but to be honest if you convert the movies yourself and use real player you can get some amazing results , for example when i put an avi film on the core player and through the tv out , on a 19" monitor there is quite a bit of fuzz and when the action gets going core player struggles a bit

so i converted my divix film throuh super with the followig settings
video size 640x480
aspect 4;3
frame sec 29.97
bitrate 1152
options - high quality - strech -48k audio all ticked

samplin frequency -- 1600
channels 2
bitrate 24kbps

then at the very top i have
output container mp4
output video codec mpeg-4
audio codec aac

these settings will play through real player excellent and when viewed on a tv you will get much smoother more watchable playback then you would with an avi/divix movie through either core player or divix player

dont get me wrong if you are watching the movies through just the handset core player will be fine but when i connected it to the tv my converted movies and real player were much better , its all about what you want me personally i like to watch the movies on my girlfriends telly kinda like a portable dvd player so when i connect it to the telly i want it to be smooth , i just convert my films over night when i wake up they are done 😊

but like i say it depends on what you wana use your movies for coreplayer is excellent for just the phone and it saves a hell of alot of time converting 😊
