Hello.
I've just upgraded from 6110 Navigator to e71. To preserve my contacts and sms messages I made a backup of my old phone using Nokia PC Suite and then restored it to the new device. As a result all imported sms messages lost contact names in the "From" filed. I.e. instead of "From: Aaron A. Aaranson" I get "From: +79161234567".
Is there any way to rebuild sms database/index so that phone numbers will be substituted with address book names?
delete all your contacts and messages in your E71 and re-transfer them from the 6110, but this time don't use pc suite, do it via bluetooth using the built in switch application on your E71

Thanks a lot, it worked. Actually, you can get the same results by changing and copying sms storage to SD card, pluging the card to the new phone and copying sms back to the phone memory.
I made a mistake by not doing that in the first place and now I've received several new messages in the "corrupt" database and don't want to loose them. Maybe it's possible to import *.vmg files into sms inbox via PC Suite?
Hi,
I have used the Communication Manager in the PC Suite to drag/drop all SMS to a PC folder. HOWEVER, I cannot import them back to the phone INBOX. When I use import, the SMS only goes to DRAFT. Help pls...
