Hi All,
About to plonk down on an N95 8gb but I have just one question that I need answers from some N95 experts here: Is there a way to restrict data usage (not voice/sms) to ONLY the (3G/UMTS) home network?
i.e.:
On home network (3G/UMTS):
- allow voice/sms
- allow data
Roaming (2G):
- allow voice/sms
- disable data
The reason I ask this is because the cheapest way for me to get an N95 8GB is through a carrier that charges exorbitant rates for data usage whilst roaming 😞
Thanks in advance!
There is no setting/feature to explicitely disable data connections when roaming.
You can, however, e.g., in the browser configure it to ask every time to choose the access point.
Or you can always close any data connections by a long press of the red/hangup key in standby mode.
If you're willing to disable also voice/SMS when leave your home 3G network, then you can change the network settings to UMTS only.

Thanks... so i take it the setting you described is only for the browser? what about for AGPS / push email?
