e71 firmware change problem

Hi all,

I changed my e71 Product code from 0560654 to 0567045 (euro) but, on "Nokia Software Update", the button "Reinstall" does not appears, so I can't reflash it.

Any tip for me?

although the Nokia update recognises the E71, there are no update available, so they haven't uploaded the current firmware.
Until they release a new firmware you won't be able to use the product code change method.

It is possible to reflash using phoenix if you can find a copy and the current firmware file.

I got the Phoenix Software and the Firmware set but when trying to update a error occurs: cannot put the phone on flash mode... the phone turns off but nothing happens....

where did you get the firmware set?

I can give you the links but I believe you need special cables and box to be able to flash the phone. I also want to do this as I have E71-3 and I need to load E71-1 firmware in order to get my 3G working (different frequencies).

RE flashing - actually I was watching a phone dealer flashing the Nokia yesterday just with normal USB cabel and a tool called J.A.F. or so....it should work.

Is there no way to use this firmware file via USB with PC Suite or NSU?

I am having so many bugs with this device it's unreal. I also want to debrand from 3 to the basic Nokia firmware, so I can start afresh from there.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :icon14:

Also, from all your past experience (I am new to Nokia), how long before you imagine they will release new firmware for the E71?
