The single-player PC version of Reset Generation is now available to subscribers on the FilePlanet.com website. It should be opened up to non-subscribers next week, and the full game will launch on PC and N-Gage on the 4th of August (which is a week on monday).
Read on in the full article.
in ikona's latest blog entry he kind of implies reset generation won't be out august 4th.
ikona say's
"So when is the full game coming out? Earlier this week, Pocket Gamer had a report that Reset Generation will be released on August 4th. I checked with Scott Foe to see how accurate this was. His response: “I need more coffee.” So I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. "
but in the comments section he says they are finalising the testing for bounce,
i already had word bounce was out next and can't wait ,i have free code too which will make me like it even more lol

If you check the Gamespy preview they also say August 4th. It'd be strange if they didn't know since they have exclusive rights to the temporary "demo".
It's not necessarily a question of whether they knew, it may be that (yet again) Nokia's encountering last minute technical hitches with the online infrastructure. If there is a technical problem, it could be that no one knows the release date, because Nokia don't know when they'll get it fixed. That's probably why Ikona says we'll just have to wait and see, because that's what Nokia's doing.
The demo is the complete offline game, so that part is clearly finished, but the multiplayer mode possibly isn't ready yet.
I think that's what's implied by Foe's comment about needing more coffee, that they're working overtime to get Reset Gen ready so they need the coffee to stay awake.
This is why Nokia never announces launch dates, just in case they encounter unexpected delays. It's also why people should take any reported Nokia release dates with a large pinch of salt... 😉 Unless Nokia actually issues a press release with a date on it, the date probably isn't fixed.
So do we have any file planet subscribers here that have played RG and can share their early impressions of the game?
You are able to play the game even if you're not subscriber through this link..
http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/reset_generation/firstaccess/index.html
fileplanet have put a stop to non subscribers playing it ,you now et diverted to a login so if you did'nt play when link was working i guess you'll have to wait and play later this week instead
Cheers for that link Unregistered, worked for me and been playing it for the last couple hours. Pretty cool game, already getting into it much more than I expected(screen shots really just don't summarise this type of game very well IMO, also hard to desribe the gameplay).
Think if NGage ever arrives on the N93 Reset Generations will probably be one of the first games I download(along with Creatures of the Deep), seems like a very good game😎
i was playing yesterday before link was posted here and at 4 today but at 8;30 link stopped working and you get diverted to login page so try the link again tetlee i bet you it does not work again as soon as you close the game
I was a bit sceptical when I played my first couple of games on Reset Gen, but after getting the hang of it I just could not stop playing. 😊
The secret seems to be the way you always think you could win, but you don't always win, so you want to have another go. There are enough ways to win to keep the game interesting, especially the bonuses, but it's simple enough that you can pick up the rules pretty quickly.
They've obviously playtested this thoroughly, it's very well balanced indeed. There are also some VERY nice touches like the animations when one enemy defeats another. I loved the way the Elf turns into a nerd, which is obviously a tip of the hat to the paper RPG world.
There are also a LOT of in-jokes there, some of them quite subtle. People who know the history of gaming will enjoy the animations and dialogue immensely.
...but that english accent for the Lara Croft parody is absolutely awful, the worst since Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

Yeah, afraid to switch it off now, think the laptop will be going into hibernate mode tonight rather than shutdown, need to play this game some more tomorrow😊
I couldn't play it even when it was available.. a few seconds after I started it the browser shut down and some textfile about an error was generated on the desktop, same thing on our other computer, tried reinstalling java but that didn't help. Probably wont work when the game's released for everyone either.. what a shame 😞
would guess that if there is some bug on certain computers those could be quite easily addressed later on as we are speaking of browser game..

I wouldn't just assume that, you could try a different browser, or update your current browser for example. It may also depend on which OS you're using, I understand they wrote this with Windows XP and Vista in mind.
In any case, if there is a serious bug they can very easily correct it after release because it's a browser-based game. It's no different to fixing a website.
You can report bugs to the developers by posting on the game's official forum on N-Gage Arena, the devs do actually read them. I'd wait till the final release though before reporting anything.

LOL, the dangers of addictive games.
I've tried both Internet Explorer and Firefox on both Vista and XP. There are no available updates available. I'm working at a computer store (didn't try it there) so I know my way with computers, this error however I can't find a solution for... I did search the internet for one but I didn't find one that worked.
Unregistered, if you try the demo again when it's opened to the public on friday, post the error message you got on the official Reset Gen forum:
http://forums.arena.n-gage.com/nokia/board?board.id=projectwhiterock
It's possible that they're doing this public preview because they do want to know about bugs before the full launch.
As much as I'm impressed with RG, I must stink at it as I lose everytime with the Sonic-esque character, get the Plumbers princess most times but damn him and his ladies power. Need to revise my tactics, obviously not taking full advantage of the Road Hog power up. Glad I kept the webpage open, with my 360 giving up on me last week this game is keeping me nicely entertained.
I got stuck on some levels of the one player game too, it's best just to try another character and then come back to the one you got stuck on later.

There are SO many ways to play this game, I think you could spend all year trying out different strategies! 😊
One interesting thing I noticed (this won't help on the Sonic stages though): if you create a monster and it kills someone, even though they come back to life that enemy's princess automatically moves to your character. If you're in your castle when this happens, you win the game straight away. I found this out by accident, I got "killed" which put me back in the castle and I thought I was going to lose, but then I won without doing anything!
It's well worth creating as many monsters as you can, because they just wander round causing problems for all your opponents.
It will be even more interesting in multiplayer because different players will use different strategies, and if there are three or four players at once there's potential for alliances etc.

Not the, erm... red lights of doom or whatever it's called? 😞
Are 360s really as unreliable as people say?
Cheers for the tips, I will win as Sonic! Agree with you about the multiplayer, that's where it will be at for this game I think, has the makings of a multiplayer classic!
Actually my 360 must have been one of the more resistant ones, bought it on launch day so it hasn't done bad really(most of the people on my friends list have had at least one(some of them up to three) die on them. Shame they're so fragile as it's one of the best consoles I've owned I think(and I've owned plenty of them over the years😊).
It's funny how complex and fragile games consoles are nowadays. They used to be incredibly durable and simple things, almost like Fisher Price toys, I suppose because they were originally designed for a younger audience.
No two games are the same.. i can assure that ;p

You're not wrong there, my old SNES was and still is indetructable, it took a right old hammering back in the day(chucked into bags to go round to mates houses etc.) and yet the thing still works now😮
Got on a roll with RG, think I've finally clicked with the way of thinking and adaprting of stratgeies needed, can win as all the characters now I think, superb little game, very addictive! Will be fantastic online!

Hmm... one of the developers perhaps?

Yeah, the single player mode is apparently meant to get you thinking along the right lines so that you can play well on multiplayer.
|| Hmm... one of the developers perhaps?
Not me! But I would wager yes, one of the RedLynx crew.
So does anyone have a favourite character or characters? I'm liking the Monster Summoner girl at the moment, great fun filling the map with random monsters😊
Yeah, I loved the monster strategy too. It's rather anarchic as you're not really using them tactically, you're just trying to throw as much trouble in your enemies' direction as possible.
The monsters are also a lot more fun to watch than the other special powers.
what day is it becoming available to the public to play on fileplanet again ?
i'm dieing to try it again after they upped security and stopped public playing it anybody got a idea lol
ccraig wrote:what day is it becoming available to the public to play on fileplanet again ?
Friday (tomorrow). But that could be on California time, so it might be closer to Saturday morning for the rest of the world.
And the full game goes live possibly as early as next Monday! 😊
