Has anyone tried removing the covers to get to the skeleton of the 9210 they look as though they just click together. I wonder whether they cn be removed and painted of covered

I believe it is possible, i think switch has taken his apart before but you do have to remove the sticker on the bottom of the front panel and it doesnt look nice. If you could find something to replace it then go ahead. I think switch and i were speculating a while back that the 9110 cover might fit the 9210 and personally i prefer the black of the original communicator!

The Communicator without overhead panel back these two pictures show my Commuincator without the overhead panel, once without switched on lighting, and then with radiating light emitting diodes. Removing was necessary, because a new Cover painted with Airbrush should be installed. Like always before the description the indispensable warning: All tinkering and conversion instructions on these sides are based on my own experiences and ideas. You should accomplish the conversions/realization only as experienced users or draw a specialist. Hammer and chisels as well as a 50-Watt soldering iron are to be divided conceivablly unsuitable tools around a Communicator professionally. I (as the homepage operators) and naturally also the company Nokia, exclude ALL adhesion, consider a possible warranty loss!!! The overhead panel is not simple to remove, and a small meanness inserted to Nokia. Right beside the display the overhead panel on the inside with four small hooked teeth clasps itself at the PDA Displayrahmen firmly, which breaks off when inappropriate removing gladly. After removing the sticker on the front the two Torxx screws become visible, which must be loosened with a Torxx T6 precision mechanic screwdriver. This screwdriver it gives you now and then in the set as spontaneous impulse buying commodity in the building markets (e.g. 5 pieces from T6 to T10 for under 3 euro with Hagebau), all other ' sprags ' very favorably versauen on eternally the screw heads!!! If the screws are unscrewed, one can take very carefully the overhead panel off. In addition one begins on the left side. The left side held by three holding devices, per one approximately at height of the hinges, third between them. On the left lower side, approximately over the hinge, one levers the Cover of the first two fixing clips with strong fingernails (or a thin knife blade) (down and center). Subsequently, the third mounting plate over the upper hinge one releases. The Cover can be raised then easily on the left side and taken off carefully. Hereunder applies special attentions for the four small hooks (still invisible) right beside the display. If the Cover off is, being supposed being one as the first of the intact condition of these hooks make sure. In the two lower pictures one can recognize well the six "attachment noses" (three per side), with which the overhead panel at the cover is festgeklammert. This overhead panel was manufactured for me by the company Wetek (with ' Airbrush ' occupies). Who has also interest in so a Unikat, and be able an offer can look there times past to be made. It gives each quantity of example Cover to this company on the web pages, but no photos of finished 9210-Oberschalen. The company received and may the Ok Logo from Nokia only advertisement for housing bowls make, which can be removed without tool from the Handy. Upper section is called with Nokia "front Cover Assy DMC02517" and costs as spare part 37.92 euro. I could buy it in the NSC problem-free. It makes sure with the purchase that you receive also the oval adhesive, which covers the two Torxx screws. Back

Airbrush on that 9210 back the overhead panel with the Communicator can be personalisieren also very well with the Airbrushtechnik. I have the picture with Roland Keusch of the homepage, it became ' geklaut ' him (and now me: -) posed from Biggi to the order. The overhead panels were manufactured by the company Wetek (with ' Airbrush ' occupies). Since for such a work of art upper section must be diminished from the Communicator, the warranty probably expires... It makes sure with the purchase that you receive also the oval adhesive, which covers the two Torxx screws. Thus my completely installed overhead panel looks, the delivery time amounted to 2 weeks: Like the overhead panel find you are de/montiert here. Back

Had it open, seen covers for it, but not been able to get hold of them. Want some though. It's as neat inside as out, and I'm sure there is room for a vibrator in there somewhere.

You and your vibrators man....

But mr salutator phoned nokia this morning and was told that they do not supply covers to the general public,i expect this is because they think that everyone will destroy their phone instantly and will expect a replacement via the warranty. They will, however, supply them to companys who fix nokia phones..so who has a friendly nokia repair shop near them! Please please dont make me venture into the link in town...
