ok my 2 year old has had my m95, and when i took it off him it was wet through, but working dried it off and went on my merry way.
untill i looked at it about an hour or so later and it looks off, but in actual fact it was on just no display.
i've stripped it down and removed the screen and obviously a bit of moisture has got into the connector for the screen, so is it a dead screen or will it dry out over time?
or other possiblity? i'll add it seems to work by responding when i blindly tap in my pin and security but nothing from the display whatsoever
Stick it in a bowl of uncooked rice. Leave for a day.

...do you season the rice 😉
Depends what it was. Child drool isnt a nice seasoning....
bowl of rice!
O K what the screen or the phone or both?
Phone, no point ripping it apart.
Would help leaving it somewhere slightly warm, like an airing cupboard.
The idea is that the rice soaks up the moisture, and has worked for others in the past.
Depends on the initial damage done though, could have shorted something out in theory.
hell thats some teething child! 😉
My screen went last week too...

Worst case scenario, if it did short something is it repairable?
I've tried to connect the av on the telly but it doesn't show anything up. Which makes me think it's not the screen at fault and maybe more to do with the graphics section instead.
Phones for chewing by 2 yr olds....isn't that why RAZRs were invented!

Dont you need to select TV mode first? Perhaps thats why its not showing.
As for repairing, I dont know. Only thing you could do is give it to a nokia repair center and see what they say.
OMG
i've managed to get it displayed on the TV hooked up the laptop to it and installed pcsuite and backing all my info as i write this now.
few thank god for that!!!! was worried about losing my stuff on the phone!! will sync up more often now i think.
looks like it could be the screen thats gone caput after all!
Then it probably is.
You can get them off ebay and other places, Im sure someone on the forum knows of some.
took it in to phonebooth here in doncaster, they flashed my N80 for me last year on warranty, so i took it to them, they reckon between 25 and 65 25 if it's the screen or 65 if it's the top board.
which i was happy with.
thanks for the help people. it looks obvious that the N95 isn't very waterproof at all.
tip for anyone looking at this thread, if you get moisture on your keypad be very carefull as just underneath that keypad when it's closed is some water sensitive parts.
best thing is i know what to do to water ingress as the little one last year had already made an attempt on that one, which took a leap into a running bath.
one quick battery whipped out i'll tell ya, few days on radiator and all was well with it, but i'll remember the rice next time. which i suspect there will be!!!!!
thanks again anyways
got it back all fine now. It was the top board (slider i think) and screen was ok. 35 no complaints! Spose it could of been worse.
