E66/E71 "turn to silence"

Hello,

Is it possible to turn off the "turn to silence" function in the E66 and E71? Whilst I like it sometimes, in general I do find it annoying as when the phone is in my pocket it sometimes thinks it is face down.

Cheers,
Simon

Well, Simon - firstly the E71 does not have an accelerometer, so flipping it over to silence it doesn't work. But as for the E66 - yes, it seems you're right. I can't find a way of turning it off. You can turn off the auto screen rotation easy enough but I can't find a setting for the other. I have to say that this does not happen with my E66 - it has not done that whilst in my pocket. I kind of guessed it was smart enough to know what I'm up to - and indeed it seems to need a very distinctive 'flip' to action it in my testing! Maybe you have a hardware problem with a too-sensive sensor?

So, anyone else found a way to turn 'flip for silence' off?

On a related topic, has anyone got the nod to work? I can't make it. Followed the instrcutions but however hard I 'nod' it, the lights don't come back on. I remember in the AAS review Rafe said it sometimes was hard to make it work.

Oops - I hadn't realised that the E71 was without the accelerometer. Thanks for the correction.

My E66 has only been silent on one occasion whilst in my pocket so either I was unlucky, or just possibly the signal had glitched at the same time that the call was incoming.

Can't say that I have tried the nod.

Cheers,
Simon
