Access point issue: works w/browser but not with other applications??

I'm able to jump online using the T-Zones application and can go to any website and everything seems fine. When I try to log into LIVE Messenger or use SkyFire I get an error that says:

Sign-In Failure
We were unable to connect Windows Live service.
Please check your access point and network settings and try again.

If I use my WiFi here at home I can use both LIVE Messenger and SkyFire just fine.

What settings do I need to adjust make T-Zones behave like my WiFi? It's got the factory settings as sent from Nokia. I tried with the Authentication set to Normal and Secure and it seems to be the same result. Any help here would be appreciated.

It could very well be that T-Mobile is restricting what ports and protocols can go through to the Internet using the T-Zones access point and tariffs. Call them and ask if there are any such restrictions in effect.
