hi all, just got rid of my n95 8gb(awful) and got my hands on the E90, so far so good, only one probably stupid question, on the n95 when i received an e-mail the phone would light up and, even if locked and in stand-by, have an "@" symbol. i find this very useful when i use the phone in silent. i do get the envelope for sms but nothing for e-mail,
anyone have any ideas??
noobie question
AFAIK it shows the @ on the desk status bar only.
many thanks, such a shame as it's probably the only thing the n95 did that i miss
cheers
However Using Nokia's own "Nokia Email" program it does so:
Good porgram (beta), however with some minor points: sent mail don' t arrive int the sent folder. Anyone experience with this program?
Thanks,
Ljad.
Hey i have an E90 as well, with the latest firmware. And when i get a new email either from the built into messaging email or with the Nokia Email program i get the @ symbol on the upper bar of the phone. Perhaps you need the updated firmware on yours?
firmware is up-to-date, i get the symbol on the stand-by screen , but when the phone locks and goes to "sleep" and i recieve a mail nothing happens other than a tone, on my n95, even in "sleep" the phone would light and the @ symbol would appear next the the kocked "key". not a big deal, but it was usefull,
Have you tried the LargeTime power/screen saver? Haven't tried it for this purpose but maybe it replicates the info on the screen? The other option you have is to invest in RemindMe - you can set that to sing and dance and vibrate in anyway you fancy for lots of events.

thanks for the suggestions, took it back today and got another one and it works fine, hopefully thats the last of my problems!
ever tryed the SMS Blink software?
