One of those interesting things that you may have missed first time round: a video demonstration of the camera-based scrolling in Dirk Dagger, done by the Smashpop website. We're not sure if this will make it into the release version as Nokia has stopped talking about the feature in the game's publicity, but an interesting video nonetheless. (Click on the headline to watch the video.)

In case you're wondering why the scrolling suddenly stops, it's because they've reached the edge of the playing area. When they move in the other direction the scrolling starts again.
Simple maybe but pretty cool none the less, would like to think this feauture might make it into the final release, guess we'll just have to wait & see.
From what various developers have been saying, it sounds like the first version of the N-Gage development kit doesn't have any exotic things like graphics chip support or accelerometer support. If the camera scrolling is left out of Dirk Dagger, it may be because the kit doesn't have camera support either.
When the next version of the kit appears things should get interesting, as it will definitely have graphics chip support and possibly other stuff too.
next thing they might consider would be adding Navi Wheel compatibility to games. Might not be as cool and nifty as camera motion snesing or accelerometer controls, but it would be a dran good way for menu scrolling, and some simple control 2D games like Block Breaker.
Heck, the N78's Navi wheel is completely compatible with all the menus of the phone. Nokia should release an FW update that enables the same thing for N81.
Also the N-Gage app could be Nave Wheel compatible. And the phone should have full support for Landscape viewing, even the N-Gage application, but some games like MHP have to be portrait I guess.
Hmmmm... Theres some material for my blog again...
