Replace front facia + lens

Hey all.
I need some help with this...
I dropped a set of keys on the front of he e90 and now the front screen (the glass not the lcd) is cracked.
I found replacement screens and covers on ebay.

How does one go about removing either the:

1) Entire front of the e90...aka the glass screen, the front keypad and the front metal rim thing

2) Just the screen

Both of these are available on ebay and quite cheaply too so would appreciate any advice on how you actually get the old facia off!!!

Thank you for your help!!!!!!!!!

OK, downloaded the service manual and there is nothing in there about it.
I reckon the whole front face comes off...there is a seam all the way around along the edge...any suggestions?
HMMM
Ok, when you open the e90 up, on the front of the pda screen there are two screws...do you think I should unscrew these before I can split the case apart?
I.E. is the process just like the n95

I'd say if you've got the right tools, clean hands, a large flat worktop and a bit of experience not having bit left over when you put things back together, go for it.

You will of course invalidate the warranty, but I guess you know that.

I'd advise taking photos along the way: you will not only have a photo guide to what you did in case you forget which bits go where when you put it back together, but if you want to you can then post a very useful "how-to" thread with photos!

HTH.

Right, so managed to replace it...its dead easy.
The front screen lens looks like it goes under the metal rim, but it doesnt.
To open it or remove it...espicially if its smashed, just pull the shards up and break the old screen...alternatively, use a think knife (not sharp) and wedge it under the screen inbetween the bottom of the screen and the 4-way keypad...

Thats all you do.
So now I have a nice pristine screen....better then my smashed front screen!!!
