Just been reading about this phone, was gonna get the N96 but this looks better as I don't the need the TV in the Nokia.
But does anyone know if the Samsung will have or be able to use maps as the Nokia does with its GPS system? I know know the Samsung has built in GPS as well but haven't been able to find if it can use maps (TomTom/Garmin or Samsungs own?).

It comes with a re branded samsung version of Route66, I am in the same predicament as yourself with my upgrade due early october.

Looks it should be out 'early September' according to the reports, can't wait to get my new phone 😊

this phone is available with an Orange contract. What i really want to know is if this handset is compatible with programmes such as Sports Tracker, Mobile Web Server....basically, will it run the programmes written for N95 and the like?

Most third party applications (unsigned or Symbian Signed) should install & work fine.

I have Google Maps working great on my Samsung g810, Google recognised the phone and offered a Samsung version for download. I have not yet installed much else.

On the other hand, Nokia applications including Nokia Maps & N-Gage will not install. These are, (fairly reasonably in my view), signed to only install on Nokia devices.
