Firmware upgrade, resets your phone?

Does a firmware upgrade to the newest version (whatever it is) that fixes the sound problem, would it reset the phone completely with all user settings, melodies etc etc ?

Hi!

I upgraded my P800 to R1D some days ago. Before i did it i made a backup of the phone, and when i got the phone back an hour later i restored it. Everything came back to the phone, settings and all, EXCEPT all voice controls. So i had to record the magic word/answer and all my voice tags in my contact. Really annoying, hope the next update from SE doesn't erase them.

I made a backup of my phone. Then I upgraded my P800 and I have now organiser R1G05, CDA R2A04, phone R1D and Bluetooth R2C. Then I tried to restore the backup I made before back to the phone. The restore function started, but then PC Suite gave an error Invalid backup format. Now I can't get my old backup data back to the phone. Can anyone help, please?
