Nokia Chat now for vanilla S60 3rd Edition

Nokia Chat, the Contacts and GPS-integrated chat and location-sharing system, just became available for vanilla (i.e. non-FP1 or FP2) S60 smartphones such as the Nokia N93, E61 and E65. There are a few small functional limitations but, armed with a Bluetooth GPS, there's now no reason not to join in the world of Chat.

Read on in the full article.

I've tried installing the new Nokia Chat on both my latest firmware Nokia N73 and E61 and can't get to work on either, so a few bugs still to fix I think.

I can't get it to start on my N93. The screen just goes blank for a few seconds, then I get dumped back to the application launcher.

But still, it's nice to see Nokia hasn't totally forgotten all but their very latest phones.

@Enfors: For N93, there are restrictions in the supported SW versions (as it was pointed out in the blog entry). Please upgrade your device with Nokia Software Updater, and give it another go.

@gerrymoth: I believe we got it to install in your device, didn't we 😊 We had the packages wrong at launch - now it is correct.
