Hi everybody,

I got the E71 in mid July. Bought it in Doha, Qatar on the launch day. Later, realised my stupidity. Although, the phone is great, the keypad is Arabic/English with the English keys in blue. Hence barely visible without the backlight, which does not come on unless in lowlight conditions 😡 I've been searching for a English only keypad high and low. Finally success today!! 😊 Just ordered one from here - http://cnn.cn/shop/index.php

Also, got a couple of screen protectors from here - http://www.clarivue.com/detail.asp?key=Screen_Protector_Phone_Nokia_E71 as the one that came with the phone is starting to come off.

Cheers,
Keith

How much of the display do those protectors cover? I bought a mirrored one which is a little small for the actual display area let alone what I would consider the entire display panel. I would like to see more of the display covered and the mirrored ones suck for use in outside in the daylight. Even seeking shade doesn't seem to help.

Did they deliver the keypad? If so, how soon? and is it an original Nokia E71 English keypad. I have an Arabic one with English in blue, its driving me nuts 😞.

Hi

I have a E71 with azerty keyboard. What happens if I replace my actual keypad with a qwertz keyboard.

I'm afraid that when I press on q it will still display a on the screen because of the firmware is still in azerty mode.

Do you have an idea how to change the firmware from azerty to qwertz ?

Regards

EDIT:
I've change my original keypad from German layout to UK. I have to change the product code using NSS. Then update the firmware using Nokia Software Updater. I use the UK product code.

Product codes can be found here

I have Arabic keyboard which I want to change to English keyboard. Is anyone interested in buying the Arabic keyboard?
