Something I've been meaning to ask...
My contacts take an age to appear whether I use either the shortcut on the keypad or go Menu > Contacts. It's like a slow program start on a clunky windows PC. Has anyone else experienced this?

this is because you are probably closing the contacts app using the RED END key. dont do this. instead use the EXIT key, and the next time you open contacts, it will appear instantaneously. always use EXIT because it keeps it in temp memory. s60 is designed this way for a few core apps, call log, contacts, are 2 of these that function this way. dont use the red end key for them. 3rd party apps you install work differently, and they truly close when using the exit button OR the red end key.

Ok, I have a different problem. Contact application opens fine, but opening every contact takes 12sec!! I tried Exit, or red button, makes no difference.
I've got only 237 contacts which are using 127kb in total, no thumbnails etc.
N95 with latest firmware.
How to fix that?

i dont know, i have almost identical number of contacts, but mine open quickly. i do remember some of them opening very slowly before, but it only happened a few times and it went away. maybe a reboot, or worst case a factory reset.
the EXIT key trick is also crucial if anyone uses conversations, because conversations also opens instantly if you EXIT. but if you hit the END key then it takes forever to queue up all your texts again inside the contacts app...

I had the same issue. I've uninstalled Conversation and it seems to have fixed it, although it didn't happen 100% of the time anyway, so I can't be sure. Haven't had it once since then though.
