Suspected problem with Nokia AC-6X microUSB mains charger connected to N82 (UK Model)

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a second-hand Nokia N82 in the UK that came with an AC-6X microUSB mains charger. However, when I connect the charger to my phone I am presented with the "Select mode: PC Suite / Data transfer / Image print / Media player" menu, as though I were connecting a CA-101 microUSB-to-USB cable. The battery meter stays static regardless of which mode I choose. The phone charges correctly using a regular Nokia charger.

Is my charger faulty, or is it the case that my phone is indeed charging in spite of the static battery meter?

Apologies if I am being stupid and have failed to spot something obvious!

Thanks for your help,

Nick

I was under the impression that all Nokia Smartphones with mini-USB sockets could NOT be charged via USB... but I would be wrong?
