I've had my N91 since April 2006. In that time, I haven't upgraded the firmware at all and I have installed a small number of app (Shozu, Google Maps, and a few more). It's been working fine.
Last week it started acting very strangely in two ways.
* The battery charge only lasted six-eight hours rather than the normal couple of days
* Within seconds of turning the phone of, it starts to slow down. It can take two minutes to display a text message. This gets progressively worse and in less than five minutes it becomes unusable.
My first thought was that the battery was dying (I was still using the original one) so I bought a new one which has made no difference at all.
My next plan was to back up the data, upgrade the firmware and reset the phone. However, the slow-down of the phone affects the backup and it hangs after about thirty seconds.
It seems to be that there's some kind of runaway process on the phone which is taking up all of the processor (causing the slowdown) and also draining the battery. Is there any way to check (and correct) this on an N91.
Or does anyone have any other advice for fixing this problem?
Thanks,
Dave...
