Been working my way around my new phone and discovering what it can and can't do much to my amazement...and disappointment.
I have been trying it out as a replacement for my Tom Tom One by using the Garmin XT satnav, but have found that the Garmin voice prompts do not work whenever the phone is connected via bluetooth to my handsfree car kit. I have tried updating the Garmin software but to know avail. Does anyone have any ideas or any experience of similar behaviour?.
The Garmin works great otherwise and is actually an improvement on my Tom Tom as far as more updated mapping (I no longer live on "unknown street" even though this estate has been here for 10 years:rolleyes😊, but I think I am going to miss the voice prompts especially with the smaller screen size of the phone.
Another issue is with the bluetooth connection to the carkit itself. The carkit (Alpine KCE300BT) has various options allowing you to make a call from your contact list or to call someone that has recently called you etc, but none of these work with the N95.
I know the carkit works as I have previously used it with other phones including another Nokia, two Samsungs and a Motorola, but I am thinking (hoping?) there is a setting in the N95 that I just haven't found yet (I have read through the manual) that will allow full functionality with the bluetooth kit.
