E71 New User Qs: Enable fading menus? Debrand? A2DP bug?...

Hi, I am a new owner and seriously impressed with the E71. This is like a breath of fresh air compared to having endured Windows Mobile since their first ever device.

As ever however there are some queries I am left with and I hope someone is able to help:

* How do I remove the animated operator startup splash screens? My phone is branded to the 3 network in the UK. Better still, can I hard reset and debrand all network customisations?

* When I pair my mono Plantronics 510 Bluetooth earpiece to the E71, the phone automatically routes ALL audio through the earpiece! Ringtones, music, SMS alerts... So I either have to wear the earpiece all day, or turn it off - but then I can't pick it up to receive a call!
Worse still, I get in the car and the phone connects to my JVC KD-BT5 stereo. All audio is again routed through the stereo's A2DP source. But if I listen to the radio, I don't hear the phone audio, and again miss out on SMS alerts and more!
This is the only A2DP phone I know that doesn't let you choose whether each Bluetooth headset is also a 'Bluetooth Audio Device'! Even Windows Mobile had a checkbox for that!!

* On a YouTube video of the E71 I see the menu screens crossfading into each other, but on mine they do not. How do I enable this?

* The camera quality is appalling. The amount of grain must be a bug. Nokia will lose sales on this compared to the Blackberry Bold which has a lower-res yet better quality camera. Also AutoFocus should be Auto (!) not require pressing the 't' key.

Thanks in advance!

PS: A tip in return for those looking for Threaded SMS messaging like the Palm and new Windows Mobile - download Nokia Conversation 😊

Its not possible to unlock Nokia E71 at this moment without the unlock code from your network (three, T-mobile etc). However, I was able to debrand my Nokia E71 by flashing it with Generic firmware.

Step1

Download the flashing software Phoenix:

Step 2

Download the Generic Nokia E71 firmware:

RM-346_EURO_100.07.76_v1.0

Step 3:

Flash the firmware to mobile using Phoenix. If you are not sure how then though I have not read myself but there is a guide availble on the internet on how to use Phoenix:

Happy Flashing!

Yeah, but the operator brandings are annoying - especially the dozens of browser bookmarks that you can't delete (without hacking)

I got a e71 from 3,

I changed my product code over using NSS and download new generic firmware using NSU,

No 3 crap, and 100% faster.
