Hi all,I need to buy a new monitor for my pc. I was thinking of buying a 17" nec lcd or a 19" normal monitor. Now I have an old 15" fujitsu that after an hour blasts my eyes away :evil: :evil: :evil: !!! I use my pc mostly for internet navigation and work. I do not play any game on my pc because I don't like em. Do you think a 17" lcd would be ok? Please help me decide,your suggestions are appreciated.

i personally prefer the 17" lcd monitor.
I'd say it dpends on how much space is a premium. Sure LCD look great, but if you have the space and dont need to move it around much a normal monitor is better value for money and if you get a good one is better quality in viewing terms. Persoanly I have a LG Flatron 795 FT+ which I think is the bees knees.

The leading TFT brand at the moment is Samsung, with out a doubt, TFT's are excellent for everything exept hardcore gaming, they are MUCH more cumfy to look at and use, more clear, and vivid. If you do decide to go with CRT, the NEC/Mitsubushi ones are catching everyones eye at the moment, with Diamondtron beating trintron in terms of clarity, colour, brightness etc... the 930SB Diamond pro is an excellent 19" CRT. Personally I would choose the TFT over CRT... but the above mentioned CRT would be the only I would consider
depends ... what resolution can you tolerate?
1280*1024 = 17 inch
1600*1200 = 19 inch
if you only want 1024*786 you might as well use a 15 inch.
Hate it when people use 1024*786 on a 17 inch 😊 it has the same effect as 640*480 on a 15 inch 😛 MEGA PIXELS😊
I myself prefer 1600*1200, easy to code with ... plus you can see entire AAS forum front page without scrolling 😊

I was thinking: in terms of eye protection. Which is the one that causes less eye damage? Normal monitor or lcd? Which size? Maybe which brand?
I love the feeling of LCD TFT Screens.
That`s why I use Laptop. I think less eye damaging is TFT LCD.
And space saver 2 😃 *not money saver, as chief Rafe mentioned :roll: :roll:
I use a 17" LCD on my desktop, remember that the LCD will have a larger viewable area and although more expensive, is much better on your eyesight than the CRT. I wouldn't buy another CRT.
